Print Dialogue Days 2008

You're invited! The American Print Alliance 2008 Print Dialogue Days will be September 25-27 at SCAD-Atlanta (Savannah College of Art & Design, Atlanta campus).

Our annual get-together, filled with conversation and demos, has been a regular event around the South since 1997. This year, there will be an open house at the Atlanta Printmakers Studio on Thursday. Friday includes behind-the-scenes at the High Museum's Print Room, participatory printmaking events and lots of gallery receptions. Then on Saturday we'll have our speakers, panel discussions, technical demonstrations and open portfolios (an opportunity to show your prints and see your colleagues' work).

Everyone is invited to help create a closer sense of community among the area's printmakers, including students in print and design arts, our future professional colleagues. Free and open to the public.

Please scroll down below the daily schedule for information about the Relief Effort, Hotlanta exchange portfolio and lodging for those coming from outside the Atlanta metro area.

Schedule, September 25 - 27, 2008

Relief Effort, Friday, September 26

All artists and printmakers attending the American Print Alliance Dialogue Days at SCAD-Atlanta are welcome and encouraged to participate in Relief Effort, a collaborative printmaking event at the SCAD-Atlanta Printshop, Friday, September 26th, 1:00-5:00pm.

Participants should bring a wood block or linoleum cut (or both!). Please try to bring relief blocks of individual images that do not incorporate a border, so that multiple images can be collaged easily. All relief blocks will be collected and displayed. Participants will have access to all the relief blocks collected. Inking stations with various colors will be set up around the shop. Paper 22 x 30" and ink will be provided. Participants will collaborate and print multiple block relief prints.

Refreshments will be served.

Proceeds from sales of donated prints will benefit the American Print Alliance.
